On April 22, the second meeting of the Public Council established by the decree of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia was held at the MFA.
During the meeting, developments that had taken place since the previous meeting held in this format in February were touched upon.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the activities towards promoting the interests of the Republic of Armenia in the external arena, as well as the prospects for development of partnerships based on the logic of a balanced and balancing foreign policy. The processes of normalization of relations with neighboring countries, efforts aimed at further institutionalization of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and existing approaches to addressing current challenges were touched upon.
Minister Mirzoyan outlined the progress and opportunities on the implementation of the projects aimed at regional unblocking and expanding connectivity networks.
Developments in the Middle East were also touched upon.
An exchange of views took place on issues on the development of strategic partnerships. In the context of the dynamically developing Armenia-EU partnership, high-level events scheduled to take place in Yerevan in May were touched upon.
The importance of active dialogue between the state institutions and civil society, as well as cooperation with like-minded international partners in addressing the challenges encountered on the path of democratic development, was emphasized.
The Minister responded to questions from participants, followed by a substantive exchange of views.
