For the Better: Marking Earth Day with the relaunch of our sustainability framework

On Earth Day 2026, Electrolux Group strengthens its commitment to advancing its environmental and social sustainability journey.

As part of this renewed ambition, we have updated our For the Better framework to help enable the new Electrolux Group business strategy - embedding sustainability at the heart of everything we do. The focus on circularity has been sharpened, including durability, connected home ecosystems and partnerships.

"The For the Better framework has been updated to better enable our business strategy and respond to external and internal stakeholders' evolving expectations and to ensure continuous sustainability leadership in our industry. Keeping our foundation strong to be a Better Company, we strive for more circular business models that can enable lifetime engagement with consumers, as well as partnerships to drive our sustainability agenda further and contribute to making a positive impact," says Elena Breda, SVP Product Strategy, Innovation & Sustainability.

"We will further strive to accelerate the delivery of solutions that can lower energy and water use, help reduce food waste and enable healthier homes, drive more circular business models through increased reparability and durability, services and recycled materials, while enabling an even stronger lifetime engagement through connected ecosystems in the home."

What is new in the updated framework

As in the original For the Better framework, launched in 2016, Electrolux Group continues to build on three core pillars: Better Company, Better Solutions and Better Living.

Better Company remains the foundation of the framework, driving more climate-responsible, resource-efficient operations, reducing the Group's carbon footprint and that of its suppliers, while acting responsibly with respect for people and ethics in our operations and value chain.

The Better Solutions and Better Living pillars have been refined to help enable the Group's business strategy to win in the marketplace.

Better Solutions now has a stronger focus on:

  • Appliance performance, focusing on energy efficiency, smart functionalities and recycled material use

  • Circularity, enabled through lifetime engagement with consumers, including the connected home environment, durability and reparability

Better Living has a sharper focus on:

  • Inspiring and enabling consumers to adopt healthier, more sustainable everyday habits

  • Introducing community engagement and partnerships as key elements of the Group's sustainability agenda, part of our broader contribution to a positive impact

Making steady progress in 2025 toward targets

Electrolux Group reached its 2025 science-based targets three years ahead of schedule in 2022. New targets were set in 2023 to reduce carbon emissions in own operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 85%, and Scope 3 emissions (mainly when products are in use) by 42% between 2021 and 2030.

Our long-term ambition is to achieve net zero across the entire value chain by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. In 2025 we reduced carbon emissions in our own operations by 45% and in products by 33% versus 2021. (Read more here.)

In 2025, the Group reported that recycled steel and plastic accounted for 23% of the materials used in its own-manufactured products, toward our 35% target by 2030. We recycled or recovered over 99% of the waste in our manufacturing sites. (Read more here.)
