The City of Vantaa sends aid to Ukraine

"The City of Vantaa wants to support Ukraine in a concrete way. We believe that even small actions make a big difference when we help people living in the midst of war and support their recovery," says Deputy Mayor Tero Anttila.

The rehabilitation equipment was donated by Fitnessgym Oy / GoFitness Oy (CEO Ilkka Mitrunen), Slingshot Oy (CEO Jari Rännälä), Podium Gym Solutions Oy (CEO Lasse Rantanen), and FitVantaa - Iron Paradise Fitness Center (Founder, Owner, CEO Riku Kärkkäinen). Students in logistics at Varia are responsible for transporting the equipment within Vantaa.

The donation is being carried out in cooperation with the Volunteer Coordination Headquarters Charity Fund, a charity and humanitarian aid organization established in Kyiv in 2022.

During the war, the fund has grown into a significant actor in Ukraine and is responsible for logistics and the delivery of aid to crisis regions. The Embassy of Ukraine is responsible for delivering the donation to the Donetsk region and will also cover the transportation costs. The City of Vantaa's decision supports joint international efforts and helps both the civilian population and the Ukrainian armed forces in the affected region.
