County Commissioners' November Food Drive Collects 1,700 Pounds of Food for Local Pantries

FREEHOLD, NJ - The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners is proud to announce that the County's November Food Drive collected 1,700 pounds of food, thanks to the generosity of County employees and residents who participated throughout the month.

The collected food was divided and delivered to two local food pantries: Belmar Food Pantry at the West Belmar United Methodist Church and the Casa Freehold Food Pantry, both of which continue to serve residents facing ongoing food insecurity.

"We are incredibly grateful to our County employees for stepping up once again to support our community," said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. "Collecting 1,700 pounds of food is a tremendous accomplishment, and it reflects the compassion and commitment of our workforce. These donations will directly assist our neighbors who continue to struggle to put food on the table."

Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services, emphasized the continued need within the community.

"Even as full SNAP benefits have been reinstated, many families are still navigating financial challenges," said Commissioner Deputy Director Kiley. "Local food pantries remain in need of support, and this collection will go a long way in helping them meet the demand. We are proud to contribute to the important work Belmar Food Pantry and Casa Freehold Food Pantry do every single day."

The Board of County Commissioners extends its sincere appreciation to all who donated and helped make the November Food Drive a success.
