Refurbished lounge area for Oakwoods community

Arvida Oakwoods retirement community has recently transformed its lounge area and courtyard, breathing new life into the communal space.

The courtyard, previously unused and tired, has been beautifully refurbished too, creating a vibrant atmosphere around the new lounge area. Arvida Oakwoods Village Manager, Andrew Morrison says the fresh new look has everyone excited in the village. "The lounge area is a busy space for residents where we hold lots of morning teas and social catch ups. It really has been a major upgrade for our community." Working on the project, JTB Architects ensured that the renovation matched the colours and materials throughout, lending a well-considered and cohesive aesthetic.

New refurbishment additions have included a BBQ area, a pizza oven, and a massive deck for residents to enjoy in the warmer months. The gardens have also been fully landscaped and illuminated with garden lights and palm trees. Feedback from residents has been very positive, and the village is eagerly anticipating upcoming events - a community flower show and Christmas mini market - so they can proudly show off their new space to the wider Nelson community.
