BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Marking a quarter century of celebrating creative writing, Bowling Green State University will host the 25th Winter Wheat Writing Festival from Nov. 6-8 at the Education Building and in the community.

Presented by Mid-American Review, the University's international literary journal, the free, three-day public event will feature writing workshops, guest readings, open mic sessions, a book fair and additional opportunities for writers from the region and beyond to connect.

Attendees can participate in more than 30 workshops led by seasoned writers and literary experts, spanning fantasy, horror, surrealist flash, family and other disciplines relevant to writers of all levels.

This year's guest speakers and readers include BGSU alumna Paula J. Lambert, poet Juan Armando Rojas and local authors Jonie McIntire and Dave Essinger.

As part of its 25th celebration, the Winter Wheat Writing Festival also will offer an interactive exhibit for writers to share their experiences, reflect on past events and honor those who have helped shape the event and continue its work and outreach.

Created in 2001, the BGSU Winter Wheat Writing Festival began as one of the few festivals and conferences of its kind in the country. Today, the festival draws over 250 participants each year and serves as a reunion for BGSU Department of English alumni and writers from the Midwest and beyond.
