Governor Lombardo Highlights Expanded Patient Protections Under Hospital Transparency Act

Today, Governor Joe Lombardo joined patient advocates and stakeholders to launch the Nevada Hospital Price Finder, a new online tool designed to give Nevadans clear, upfront access to hospital pricing information statewide. The tool is a result of the Hospital Transparency Act (AB 343), signed into law by Governor Lombardo.

The Nevada Hospital Price Finder, developed by PatientRightsAdvocate.org, allows patients, employers, and researchers to search and compare the exact prices of hospital services across the state - helping prevent surprise billing and empowering more informed healthcare decisions.

"In the most recent legislative session, I prioritized health care initiatives aimed at expanding access, reducing costs, and increasing transparency across the system," said Governor Lombardo. "The Hospital Transparency Act protects Nevadans from surprise bills and overcharges by requiring hospitals to provide clear, accessible price lists when patients seek care."

AB 343 codifies federal hospital price transparency requirements into Nevada law while adding strong state-level enforcement measures. Hospitals are now required to publicly post clear, accessible pricing information for all services and provide consumer-friendly tools for comparing at least 300 shoppable procedures.

"With the Hospital Transparency Act, we are delivering real accountability," Governor Lombardo continued. "No more surprises, no more guesswork-just straightforward answers on healthcare costs."

The Hospital Transparency Act is part of Governor Lombardo's broader healthcare agenda focused on increasing efficiency, lowering costs, and expanding access to high-quality care for all Nevadans.
