MaineHealth Stephens Hospital Opens 2025 Community Grant Application

Norway, Maine - MaineHealth Stephens Hospital is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the MaineHealth Stephens Hospital Grant Program. This program supports local non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations in implementing sustainable health care initiatives that improve the health and well-being of our community.

The application window is open now through Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Organizations are encouraged to submit proposals that strengthen community health through innovation, collaboration, and long-term impact.

In 2024, MaineHealth Stephens Hospital proudly awarded grants to several organizations making a difference in our community, including:

  • Center for Ecological Building and Education (CEBE) - expanding the BikeShare Program to increase access to sustainable transportation.
  • Maine Dragon Boat Club (MDBC) - supporting free clinics and practices that promote fitness, teamwork, and leadership, particularly for cancer survivors and individuals in recovery.
  • Mission Working Dogs - placing a certified therapy dog in the hospital and surrounding community to enhance mental health support for patients and staff.
  • Safe Voices - sustaining critical services through its 24-Hour Helpline Advocacy and Support program for survivors of domestic abuse and exploitation.
  • Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine (CRWM) - strengthening the Live Well Program, which offers wellness initiatives, support groups, and therapeutic activities for patients and caregivers.
  • TruStrength Tomorrow - providing scholarships for Oxford Hills youth to access mentorship-based fitness and leadership programs.
  • Western Maine Addiction Recovery Initiative (WMARI) - funding outdoor recovery programs designed to support individuals and families on their recovery journey.
  • Lights Out Youth Art Program - expanding a free summer art program that fosters creativity and self-expression for youth in Western Maine.
