Adult Mosquito Control Spraying Scheduled

Clarke Environmental Services, Inc. will be conducting countywide adult mosquito control spraying in Okeechobee County from Wednesday, October 8 through Thursday, October 9, weather permitting.
Spraying will occur between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. using truck-mounted Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayers.
Targeted areas include 70.2 miles of roadway in Okeechobee County.
This mosquito control effort is part of an ongoing initiative to reduce mosquito populations and minimize the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses.
Residents are encouraged to report areas with high mosquito activity by calling the Clarke Mosquito Hotline at 1-800-203-6485.
To help reduce mosquito breeding grounds, residents can take the following preventive
measures:
• Remove standing water from containers such as birdbaths, flowerpots, and pet bowls.
• Keep lawns and vegetation trimmed.
• Repair damaged window and door screens.
• Clean rain gutters to prevent water buildup.
