Statement from County Executive McCoy on the Passing of Carm Basile

"It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Carm Basile. For more than four decades, Carm devoted his career to strengthening and modernizing our transit system, helping connect residents to jobs, education, and opportunity.

His leadership at the Capital District Transportation Authority transformed the way people move throughout our communities, and his steady hand during challenging times ensured that essential services never stopped for those who relied on them most. He was also a great partner to Albany County, always willing to work together to improve service and deliver real results for our residents.

My thoughts are with his wife, Sheila, his family, and friends during this difficult time. Our community is stronger because of Carm's lifetime of service, and his legacy will continue to move the Capital Region forward for years to come."
