City of Riverside Invites the Community to Help Shape the South Main Complete Street Project
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The City of Riverside invites residents, business owners, and community members to help shape the future of South Main Street at a community meeting at 6 p.m. May 21 at the Salvation Army Riverside Corps, 3695 1st St.
The South Main Complete Street Project is a major revitalization effort for the stretch of Main Street between Third Street and Highway 60. Funded through a federal Safe Streets for All grant, the project will bring long-awaited safety and access improvements to one of the Northside community's most-traveled corridors.
The project builds on the Northside Specific Plan and aims to create a safer, more accessible, and easier-to-navigate corridor for everyone who lives, works, shops, and travels in the area. Planned improvements include:
This project picks up where the community left off in 2018 -- refreshing ideas and making sure the design reflects what Northside residents and businesses care about most today. Along the way, we'll keep the conversation going through workshops, surveys, and community events. Residents, business owners, and neighbors are encouraged to stay involved and make their voices heard.
Community Workshop
Join your neighbors for an engaging evening to learn about the proposed improvements, ask questions, and help guide the future of your street. The May 21 workshop will feature:
