WASHINGTON - Today, Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) voted in favor of H.R. 7006 - The Appropriations Minibus for Financial Services and General Government & National Security and Department of State and released the following statement:
"This legislation funds key government operations without inflicting $163 billion in the President's proposed domestic cuts to programs that support small businesses on Main Street. This package also removes extreme GOP 'poison pills' that would have restricted access to reproductive care and blocked the IRS from offering free tax filing, ensuring Congress can focus on delivering services to the public, not advancing partisan policy fights.
This bill reasserts Congress's constitutional power of the purse and reflects responsible, bipartisan stewardship of taxpayer dollars. It also makes critical investments in our economy and global stability, including $324 million for Community Development Financial Institutions, $1 billion for the Small Business Administration, and $5.5 billion for international humanitarian assistance. I will continue working to protect our nation's security at home and abroad while safeguarding the investments that help our communities thrive."
