Illinois Power Agency Launches New Fuel Mix Web Page

The Illinois Power Agency (IPA) has launched a new Fuel Mix web page to provide stakeholders with an accessible resource for understanding the energy resource mix associated with default service block energy supply for customers of Ameren Illinois, ComEd, and MidAmerican. The page features fuel mix data from the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and PJM Interconnection (PJM), the regional transmission organizations (RTOs) serving different parts of Illinois. MISO serves much of central and southern Illinois, while PJM serves northern Illinois.

The data presented in the Fuel Mix charts is based on information submitted by winning suppliers responsible for providing block energy supply to default service customers. The majority of winning suppliers report that their supply obligations are comprised of the MISO or PJM fuel mix, providing a basis for the fuel mix data presented on the web page.

To provide a more detailed view of these supply mixes, the new web page incorporates the most up-to-date available data from MISO and PJM, offering additional insight into the energy resources represented in each RTO's fuel mix.

The IPA will update the Fuel Mix charts on a rolling basis as additional data becomes available.

Please visit the Fuel Mix web page to explore the charts and learn more about the energy resource mix associated with default service block energy supply in Illinois.
