CORREA PRESENTS FEDERAL CHECK TO ENHANCE STANTON COMMUNITY CENTER

STANTON, CA - Today, U.S. Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) presented a $250,000 check to Stanton city officials - including Mayor David J. Shawver, Mayor Pro Tem Gary Taylor, Council Member Victor Barrios, Council Member Donald Torres, and Council Member John D. Warren - for renovations to the City's Community and Senior Center Complex. Funding will go towards making the restrooms ADA compliant and other structural improvements to the Community and Senior Center Complex building.

"The Stanton Community Center is a pillar of the community and a shining example of how local government has the power to make a valuable impact on residents," said Rep. Lou Correa, "I look forward to seeing how these funds will go to modernizing Stanton's Community and Senior Center, as the City of Stanton does such a great job of managing their taxpayer dollars. This federal investment in the community center is an investment in the people of Stanton."

The federal funding is part of the FY2026 community project funding that Rep. Correa secured for California's 46th Congressional District, which totaled more than $13.3 million overall.

Stanton's Community and Senior Center Complex serves as a central hub for the community and offers a variety of low cost or free classes and programs every day of the week. In the summer, the building also provides cooling and entertainment for Stanton families without air conditioning access. The funding presented today will help the City provide more services for residents of all ages.

"On behalf of the City of Stanton, I want to thank Congressman Lou Correa for his continued support of our community. Our Community Center is truly the heart and hub of Stanton, bringing people together every day. This funding will allow us to enhance that space and better serve our residents for years to come," said Mayor David J. Shawver.
