UW-Oshkosh Class Notes: September 2026

'72 Tom Davis, of Sturgeon Bay, published Beginnings: The Trail from Boyhood in Western Colorado to the Indian Controlled Schools Movement and Restoration of Menominee Indian Tribe. The book follows Davis's life from boyhood to his teaching career and involvement in the Menominee Tribe and American Indian education restoration efforts.

'75 Margaret Keehn, of Fox Point, was appointed to Alverno College's board of trustees. Prior to her retirement. Keehn was strategic director for Life Care Solutions at GE Healthcare.

'87 (MBA) Seth Spurlock, of Marietta, Georgia, earned his Doctor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University. Spurlock is the founder and CEO of Bulk Chemical Services (BCS), former president of the Georgia Mining Association, and former president of Miami University Paper Science and Engineering Foundation.

'92 Daniel Ruedinger, of Oshkosh, joined the Verve board of directors. Ruedinger has more than 30 years of executive leadership experience and works for Castle Pierce.

'00 Chad Cotti, of Okemos, Michigan, is the interim director of Michigan State University AgBioResearch, where he will oversee AgBioResearch's strategic direction, budget, and research activities at numerous facilities around the state.

'03, '08 (MBA) Christopher Kalk, of Wausau, joined Bank First as president of its newly established north central Wisconsin region. Kalk has more than 20 years of commercial banking experience.

'04 (MBA) Tod Kelsey, of Waupaca, is the president and chief executive officer of Plexus Corp. Kelsey was recently appointed to the Littelfuse, Inc. board of directors.

'04 (MBA) Tina Schmiedel, of Oshkosh is the recipient of the 2026 Michigan Tech Distinguished Alumni Award. Schmiedel is currently a member of the UWO Foundation Board.

'04 Joe Slyzelia, of Greenville, is a pianist and member of the band Sly Joe & The Smooth Operators.

'06 Dave Lezotte, of Dacula, Georgia, is the lead radio/TV broadcaster for the Gwinnett Stripers, a Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. In July, Lezotte broadcasted on the call with '12 Jason Kempf, of Malone, the Director of Broadcasting for the Iowa Cubs, a Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. The teams played each other in a six-game series, marking the first Triple-A series broadcasted by two alumni of the UWO Radio TV Film Department.

'07 Matthew Albrecht, of Omro, is the City of Menasha's police chief. Albrecht has a 25-year career with the Menasha Police Department as a community service officer, patrol officer and lieutenant.

'07, '09 (MS) Darren Gallagher, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was introduced as the new head coach of the UWO Men's Soccer team. Gallagher's wife '06 Kristen (Malmstrom) Galllagher, of Brookfield, is also a UWO alumna. Both Gallaghers played soccer at UWO.

'09 (MBA) Matt Simmons, of Wausau, is the chief operating officer at AbbyBank. Simmons brings over 20 years of banking experience and a strong background in risk management to his role.

'11 (MA) Michelle Engel, of Green Bay, published her first poetry chapbook, No Place in This World.

'11 Nicole (TerMaat) Williams, of Merrill, is the director of business development for Westphal Staffing. Williams previously served as director of professional services at Exegistics.

'12 Grand Larie, of Neenah, was honored as a Palmer College of Chiropractic's 10 Under 10 Award recipient, an honor given to 10 Palmer alumni within their first 10 years of practice for their professional accomplishments, leadership and contributions to the chiropractic profession. Larie practices at Chiropractic Health in Appleton.

'15 Curtis Aderholdt, of Wausau, is the senior videographer at WSAW NewsChannel 7.

'15, '21 (MSE) Alexa (Nutter) Chiefari, of Fennimore, is an apprenticeship, employability, and emerging technology consultant for CESA 3.

'16 Alicia (Gehrig) Wenger, of Oshkosh, is the director of development at Greater Oshkosh Economic Development Corporation (GOEDC). Wenger's spouse is alumnus '14 Ian Wenger.

'18 (MBA) Ben Krumenauer, of Green Bay, is the director of administrative services and organizational effectiveness for the City of Oshkosh. Krumenauer was formerly the Bellevue village administrator and City of Oshkosh assistant planner.

'23 Mattie Beck, of Ellsworth, is a reporter with the Hudson Star-Observer. While a student, Beck was a staff editor and writer for UWO's Advance-Titan student newspaper.

'24 (DNP) Megan Grimm, of Green Bay, is an advanced oncology certified nurse at Green Bay Oncology.

'24 (EDD) Yvette Marshall, of Oneida, is the district director of student services for the Manitowoc Public School District. Marshall previously served as superintendent and director of pupil services for the Tigerton School District in Shawano County.
