Refuse Refuse San Francisco, Caltrans Partnering to Remove Litter & Improve Local Waterway

What:

Local volunteers to join Caltrans for a beach cleanup on the 41st Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day. The cleanup is among hundreds being organized statewide and comes before heavy autumn rains can wash trash, debris and other waste into area waterways.

Volunteers are invited to register here.

When:

Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025
10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Media interviews will be available onsite. Virtual interviews upon request.

Ocean Beach Café
734 Playa Street
San Francisco, CA 94121

Visuals:

  • Pollutants being cleaned from the park
  • Community cleanup volunteers and local businesses, including Refuse Refuse San Francisco and Caltrans
  • Evidence of coastal pollution (Santa Ana River)
  • Weighing and sorting of collected litter
