NASSP Launches New Online Course to Help Principals Build Career-Connected Learning

The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has launched a new on-demand course, "Connecting Classrooms to Careers," through the NASSP Academy. Designed by and for school leaders, the course provides a step-by-step framework to help principals create career-connected learning experiences using their existing teams and resources.

The self-paced online course includes practical planning tools, customizable templates and examples from principals who have implemented similar efforts in their schools. The course is designed for secondary school principals, superintendents and school leaders who seek to integrate relevant skills and career exposure into their existing curriculum.

"Principals are always looking for ways to make learning more relevant to students'," said NASSP CEO Ronn Nozoe. "This course addresses that need by linking school leaders with colleagues who have successfully created meaningful real-world learning opportunities. It reflects what we've heard from our members: principals and assistant principals learn best from each other."

Modules cover topics such as identifying local assets, engaging stakeholders, overcoming implementation challenges, and sustaining long-term progress. Participants who complete the course receive a certificate from NASSP Academy.

Connecting Classrooms to Careers is available August 18. To learn more or access the course, visit nassp.org/academy.
