SACRAMENTO, July 7, 2026 - The California Department of Food and Agriculture's (CDFA) Farm Equity Office is announcing applications are being accepted until July 31 to fill one vacancy on the Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) Producer Advisory Committee.
The California BIPOC Producer Advisory committee advises the Secretary on matters pertaining to the implementation of the Farmer Equity Act, and recommendations contained within the Farmer Equity Report, including but not limited to all efforts to ensure socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers are better served through CDFA's programs, policies and communications.
Committee members serve a four-year term. The committee meets quarterly, typically a combination of hybrid virtual and in-person attendance. At least one of the quarterly meetings is held jointly with the CDFA State Board of Food and Agriculture.
Board members receive no compensation but are entitled to payment of necessary travel expenses in accordance with the rules of the Department of Personnel Administration.
Individuals interested in being considered for membership on the CDFA BIPOC Producer Advisory Committee should click here to complete the application by July 31. The new member will be announced at the September 19 quarterly committee meeting.
