Rep. Karen Lupton to Recognize Elaine Clark Center with House Resolution

ATLANTA - State Representative Karen Lupton (D-Chamblee) will present House Resolution 1491 to the Elaine Clark Center on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Chamblee City Hall in recognition of the center's more than five decades of service providing learning and social environments for children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities. During the 2026 legislative session, Rep. Lupton introduced HR 1491 to recognize the center's work serving individuals with disabilities and providing support and resources to their families and the broader DeKalb County community.

"I am proud to recognize the Elaine Clark Center for the important role it plays in supporting children, young adults and their families throughout the DeKalb County community," said Rep. Lupton. "Through its educational, behavioral and social resources, the center creates meaningful opportunities for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities to learn, grow and engage with their community. It is important that we recognize the center's continued commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential."

HR 1491 recognizes that the Elaine Clark Center was founded and officially incorporated in 1969 and has since served individuals with a range of developmental and physical disabilities through early childhood education, therapy support and social programming. The center offers four distinct program areas, including early childhood programming, a fully accredited K-12 school, respite care and holiday camps and programming for young adults.
