Notice: Elevated sodium and chloride concentrations in the drinking water
The Poughkeepies' Water Treatment Facility is currently experiencing elevated sodium and chloride concentrations in the drinking water due to a salt front episode caused by drought watch conditions throughout the State. Your water may taste and smell different but is safe to drink. Individuals on salt restricted diets should be aware that your water may be contributing more sodium to your diet than usual. We will continue to monitor the situation and let you know when sodium and chloride levels return to normal.
