Traffic #ALERT: Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer and 2 Pedestrians, 1 Deceased, in Lloyd District Neighborhood

The Portland Police Bureau is investigating a fatal crash in the Lloyd District Neighborhood involving a tractor-trailer and two pedestrians. During the investigation, traffic is affected on Northeast Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

On Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 2:46 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a report of a crash on Northeast Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard at Northeast Holladay Street. When they arrived they located two people. One was deceased at the scene, another was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. That person's prognosis is unknown.
The driver of the tractor-trailer did not stop at the scene, but was followed by a witness. Officers assigned to Central Precinct stopped the vehicle and detained the driver at Highway 224 and Southeast Johnson Road. It is not clear if the driver was aware of the crash.
The Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team responded to the scene and is investigating. During the investigation, Northeast Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard is closed between Northeast Multnomah Street and Northeast Pacific Street.
