Intertek drives honey supply chain transparency with Norevo’s successful pilot of HoneyTrace blockchain platform

Intertek launched HoneyTrace in 2024, as the premier blockchain-based traceability and authenticity platform for combatting honey fraud and meeting incoming regulatory requirements.

Honey fraud remains a persistent global challenge. The EU 'Breakfast Directive' is among several regulations aimed at addressing this issue, requiring transposition into national laws by 14 December 2025 and becoming applicable from 14 June 2026. Specifically, it highlights the increasing need for rigorous verification, traceability, and quality control to ensure the purity and integrity of honey products.
