Minister Shahin Meets with the EU representative to Palestine to Discuss Current Developments

22/05/2024, Dr.Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with Alexander Stotzman, the EU representative to Palestine.They discussed the dire situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank due to Israeli continuous aggressions. Shahin emphasized the new government's priorities: ending the genocide in Gaza, securing humanitarian aid, stopping settler violations, and achieving financial stability. She welcomed recent European recognitions of Palestine and urged other EU countries to do the same to support peace and the two-state solution. Shahin also called for sanctions on settler militias and proposed official negotiations for a full partnership between Palestine and the EU.

Stotzman expressed concern about the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, reaffirming the EU's consistent support for the two-state solution and peace in the region based on international resolutions and the necessity of political dialogue between the parties.
