NORAD and USNORTHCOM Conclude Exercise AMALGAM DART

PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. - North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) concluded Exercise AMALGAM DART Sept. 1, after conducting a series of integrated air defense scenarios across North America designed to strengthen readiness against modern air-domain threats.

The exercise, which began Aug. 24, brought together U.S. and Canadian forces from across the NORAD regions to exercise aerospace warning, aerospace control and integrated air and missile defense capabilities.

Throughout AMALGAM DART, NORAD forces responded to simulated threats to North America from both eastern and western approaches. Training included mixed fighter force operations, command and control, air battle management and cruise missile defense scenarios incorporating binational assets operating from 3 Wing Bagotville, Quebec.

The exercise also provided opportunities to strengthen coordination with other U.S. combatant commands and partners, supporting broader efforts to improve domain awareness, interoperability and the synchronization of activities in and around the Arctic.

Exercise AMALGAM DART is one of a series of planned, routine and closely controlled exercises conducted by NORAD and USNORTHCOM to test and refine capabilities, strengthen interoperability and ensure forces remain ready to defend North America.
