SUBJ/HOLIDAY MESSAGE 2025//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. To our Marines, Sailors, civilians and families,
I want to wish each of you a joyful holiday season. This year has
been a meaningful one for our Corps. We continued to modernize,
stayed ready for every challenge, and lived up to our heritage as we
celebrated our 250th birthday. All of these accomplishments
reflected your dedication, your discipline, and your steady
commitment to our country. I am grateful for everything you do to
keep our Corps strong.
2. As we enter this season, I want to recognize those who will
spend the holidays on duty. From Marines operating across the
Indo-Pacific, to those supporting missions in the Caribbean and
along our southern border, and to every Marine standing watch away
from home, you safeguard the peace our fellow citizens enjoy. To
all who are deployed, know that your Corps is proud of you and that
we are thinking of you. I hope you find moments to celebrate with
your Marine Corps family, and I want you to carry the assurance that
your country stands firmly behind you. Finally, to our families,
thank you for the strength, resilience, and steadfast support that
make our service possible.
3. As many of us travel and gather over the next few weeks, take
care of yourselves and look out for one another. Remember to pay
attention, step in when needed, and make choices that keep the team
safe. Do not let a Marine spend the holidays alone. If you know
someone without a place to go, bring them in and make them part of
your day. It remains the honor of my life to serve alongside you.
I wish you a safe, memorable, and restorative holiday season.
4. Happy Holidays! Eric M. Smith, General, U.S. Marine Corps,
Commandant of the Marine Corps.//
