Classical California Honored At Central City Association’s 30th Annual Treasures Of Los Angeles Event

Renowned California Radio Station Makes Classical Music Accessible And Welcoming To All

Tuesday, June 9 - On Thursday, June 4, Classical California was honored at the Central City Association's 30th Annual Treasures of Los Angeles event , celebrating the people and institutions shaping the future of Los Angeles.

Hosted at The Music Center's Jerry Moss Plaza and emceed by former Ambassador and LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, the signature gathering brought entrepreneurs and major employers together with public decision-makers and community champions for an evening centered on conversation, interactive experiences, curated activities, and open networking. Alongside Classical California, this year's honorees included soccer legend Cobi Jones and Chef Neal Fraser .

"Classical music has the unique ability to bring people together, spark curiosity, and enrich our daily lives," said James A. Muhammad, President of Classical California. "We are grateful to the Central City Association for this recognition and proud to stand among those working to strengthen Los Angeles through culture and community."

On par with their community engagement mission, the CalMuse Guitar Quartet, a rising young ensemble of four virtuoso alums of the USC Thornton School of Music, welcomed attendees with a performance. Additionally, guests to the Classical California lounge sampled an array of violins, violas, and cellos at the Metzler Violin Shop's Strings Salon.

In an interactive soundscape designed for music lovers of all ages, guests had the chance to experience Classical California's Listening Lounge, a space to listen to Classical California's streams using wireless headphones. Attendees could choose to listen to Movie Magic Radio (classical music that makes movies magical), Nuestra Música (classical music composed, performed, or conducted by musicians from Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world), or Ultimate 101(California's favorite classical music in one place). The Listening Lounge offered a creative space to relax, play, and immerse in great music.
