State Representative David Thomas (R-Jefferson) today announced that Trumbull County was awarded funding through the Ohio Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Improvement Program.
"I greatly appreciate this use of funding to help improve safety for our residents and travelers," said Representative Thomas.
In House Bill 54 - Ohio's Transportation Budget, the General Assembly appropriated $185 million in funding each year for continued success of the program.
Roadway safety improvements funded through this round of the grant program will include roundabouts, turn lanes, intersection upgrades, more visible signs and pavement markings, and high-visibility crosswalks, sidewalks, and bike lanes.
Trumbull County is receiving $3.2 million for State Route 82 interchange improvements at State Route 193 and Niles Vienna Road.
