Portland, OR - Following today's candidate forum hosted by Oregon Business and Industry, where Governor Tina Kotek and Republican Christine Drazan laid out their respective visions for Oregon's future, Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz issued the following statement:

"Today, Christine Drazan had an opportunity to make her case to Oregon voters, and she chose to double down on her support for MAGA policies: Tax cuts for the wealthiest Oregonians, kicking Oregonians off of Medicaid, and an absolutely Trumpian lack of respect for local control."

"During today's forum, Christine Drazan said 'I love local control, until I don't' - exactly the message Oregonians would expect from someone who applauded when Donald Trump threatened to send in federal troops.

"Both Tina Kotek and Christine Drazan made their case to Oregon voters today, and the contrast could not be more clear: on one hand, Tina Kotek offered a vision of investing in education, uplifting Oregon's workforce, and continuing to grow Oregon's economy. On the other hand, Drazan offered empty promises with zero specifics, attacks on critical services, and threats to local governments. Oregon families deserve a leader who will stand up to the Trump administration's cruel agenda, not someone who would follow his agenda lock-step."
