PRSSA Teams Up with Peacock for Bateman Case Study Competition

NEW YORK, Sept. 24, 2026 - The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications, announced its partnership with Peacock of the 2027 Bateman Case Study Competition.

Each year, student members of PRSSA compete in the Bateman Case Study Competition, researching, planning and implementing a comprehensive public relations campaign. The Competition was established as a national case study through which students can apply the strategic thinking, creativity and analytical skills required to solve real-world public relations challenges.

The 2027 Competition will focus on Peacock, the streaming home of NBCUniversal's celebrated television and film content. Students will be challenged to develop and execute a comprehensive public relations campaign designed to amplify brand awareness of Peacock's programming lineup, engage college students and campus communities with Peacock programming.

Campaigns may combine overarching promotion of the culture-defining Peacock platform with targeted tactics supporting specific, pre-approved titles.

Students will execute their campaigns in early 2027, with winners selected before the conclusion of the 2026-27 academic year. Entries will be evaluated by communications professionals, academics and PRSSA advisers.

Established in 1973, the Competition was renamed in 1983 to honor the late J. Carroll Bateman, APR, a past president of PRSA who was instrumental in the founding of PRSSA.
