The City of Santa Fe is inviting community members to participate in the next phase of Santa Fe Forward, the City's General Plan update. This phase, known as Scenario Planning, gives the community an opportunity to review planning frameworks and share what Santa Fe should prioritize for the future.
The frameworks explore how Santa Fe can preserve what matters most, improve connections, invest strategically, and adapt over time. Community feedback will help inform future recommendations before the frameworks are refined into a Preferred Plan.
"Santa Fe Forward is about shaping the future of our city together," said Heather Lamboy, the City's Director of Planning and Land Use. "Before the planning frameworks move forward, we want to hear what resonates, what needs more consideration, and what priorities should guide the next phase of the plan."
During Scenario Planning, community members can review and provide input on three key areas:
Connections: How people move throughout the community.
Places: Where housing, jobs, services, and community destinations are located.
Resilience: How natural features and strategic investments can help strengthen Santa Fe over time.
This phase builds on the Santa Fe Forward Vision Summary, which was developed from more than 8,000 pieces of community input and captures the ideas, priorities, and aspirations shared by community members.
Community members are encouraged to visit SantaFeForward.org/Get-Involved to review the planning frameworks, explore the Vision Summary, and share their priorities.
