NEWS: Schiff, Padilla, Thompson Announce More than $110 Million Grant Awarded for California Veterans Home in Yountville

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla (both D-Calif.) and U.S. Representative Mike Thompson (D-Calif.-04) announced more than $110 million in federal funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to support updates at Veterans Home in Yountville - which serves the needs of nearly 1,000 veterans and their families.

The grant, totaling $110,607,384.44, will assist with covering the cost to construct a new 240-bed Skilled Nursing and Memory Care facility.

"California is home to one of the country's largest populations of veterans, and I am proud to announce millions in funding to help update and improve this vital Veterans Home facility in Yountville. Ensuring our veterans and their families have access to essential services and support is always top of mind," said Senator Schiff.

"This funding for a new facility at the Yountville Veterans Home is a critical investment for our veterans who have exemplified bravery in their service to our nation. I am proud to work alongside Senator Schiff and Congressman Thompson to secure essential investments for our veterans across California and ensure they receive continued care for their physical and mental wellbeing," said Senator Padilla.

"I'm thrilled to help deliver $110 million to the Yountville Veterans home to expand care. We owe a great debt to the men and women who served in our armed forces - investing in expanded care for our veterans just makes sense. Thank you to my colleagues, Senators Padilla and Schiff, for their partnership in delivering this critical funding for our local vets. I can't wait to see how this funding helps improve and expand services," said Congressman Thompson.
