Sen. Chuck Hufstetler Receives 2026 ACCG Legislative Service Award

ATLANTA (August 10, 2026) - Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Sen. Chuck Hufstetler (R-Rome), was recently honored by the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) with a 2026 Legislative Service Award (see attached photo by ACCG) for his leadership and collaboration with Georgia county governments during the 2026 Legislative Session.

The ACCG Legislative Service Awards program recognizes members of the Georgia General Assembly who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and collaboration on issues impacting county governments and local communities across the state.

During the 2026 Legislative Session, Sen. Hufstetler worked alongside ACCG and county officials to advance meaningful property tax reforms that benefit both taxpayers and local governments. Among those efforts was Senate Bill 566, which modernizes Georgia's Notice of Assessment by making property tax information easier for taxpayers to understand while helping counties administer the process more efficiently.

"As a former County Commissioner, I know firsthand the wide range of responsibilities and challenges that come with the job. Their position is where the rubber meets the road," said Sen. Hufstetler. "I want to thank the Association County Commissioners of Georgia for this award, and I greatly appreciate the commissioners in my district and the professionalism they bring to their service to the community."

The Association County Commissioners of Georgia is Georgia's county association, representing county officials through legislative advocacy, leadership development and programs that support effective local government. ACCG established its Legislative Service Awards program to recognize members of the General Assembly who have made significant contributions to advancing policies that benefit Georgia's counties.
