GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. As announced by reference (a), the FY28 U.S.
Marine Corps Reserve Major General and Brigadier General Promotion
Selection Boards will convene at 2008 Elliot Road, Quantico, VA

2. Promotion Boards. The boards will consider two categories of
officers: primary zone and secondary (below) zone. The primary
zone includes two zones, above-zone and in-zone. The above-zone
consists of officers who have been previously considered for
promotion from within the primary zone. The in-zone consists of
officers who will be considered for promotion for the first time
from within the primary zone. Unrestricted reserve officers defined
as Reserve Active-Status List (RASL) in reference (b) on the date
the boards convene are eligible for their respective board if, on
the convening date of the boards, the officers have continuously
performed service on either the RASL or the Active-Duty List (or a
combination of both lists) for a period of one year. However,
officers with an established separation date that is within 90 days
after the date the board convenes, or an approved retirement date
will not be considered by the board if the separation/retirement
date is established by the date the board convenes.
Officers may review reference (b) and their eligibility for the
board on the internet at the officer promotion homepage. The senior

3. Board Preparation Guidance. Officers are advised to review
reference (a) for guidance regarding submission of information,
auditing the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) and Master
Brief Sheet (MBS), fitness reports, deferment of eligibility, and
requests for non-selection prior to the convening date of the board.
Officers may review reference (a) at the officer promotion homepage.
4. Personal responsibilities. Each officer is personally
responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of their
OMPF and MBS before the date the board convenes. Refer to reference
(a) for information on obtaining and reviewing your OMPF and fitness
report submission guidelines and timelines.
5. Body Composition. Reference (c) modifies the Height and Weight
requirement to a Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) requirement. At
present, there is no method for the Digital Boardroom to pull
current WHtR information. Accordingly, an officer will not be
viewed negatively solely because a current WHtR measurement is not
available to the board. However, previous Height and Weight
measurements contained within an officer's record will be
considered, as well as any fitness reports that were processed with
a WHtR directed comment. Officers who desire to have their current
WHtR made available to the board may submit WHtR documentation
signed by their Command Physical Training Representative as an
enclosure to their letter to the board pursuant to the instructions
outlined in reference (a). Submission of WHtR is optional.
6. Officer Correspondence. All eligible officers may, if
desired, submit correspondence to the President of the Board.
Refer to paragraph 8 of reference (a) on correspondence submission
requirements, due dates and forwarding options.
7. Release authorized by MajGen Fridrik Fridriksson, Director,
Manpower Management Division.//
