Today's talks focused on bilateral issues, support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's aggression, and multilateral relations.
During their consultations, the officials discussed the current security environment in Europe and the Indo-Pacific. The deputy head of Polish diplomacy observed that the close cooperation between New Zealand and the North Atlantic Alliance is a proof that Poland and New Zealand are on the same page about current security challenges and stand resolved to counter them together.
Apart from foreign affairs, Minister Judith Collins' government portfolio includes digitising government services, science, innovation and technology, and space policy. Accordingly, the talks also covered cybersecurity cooperation, modernisation of armed forces, and reinforcing measures to ensure the effectiveness of international sanctions.
Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław T. Bartoszewski thanked his interlocutor for New Zealand's unwavering engagement and collaboration with Poland in supporting Ukraine and welcomed the growing intensity of political contacts between Poland and New Zealand.
