Thompson Announces Appointment of Hunter Simonds to the United States Military Academy
BELLEFONTE, Pa. - U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson (PA-15) today announced that Mr. Hunter Simonds of Westfield, Pa., has accepted a fully-qualified appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
Simonds is a senior at Cowanesque Valley High School. He is the son of Shawn and Nicole Simonds.
"Hunter is an outstanding student and a role model for many young people in our community," Rep. Thompson said. "I am proud to nominate Hunter for an appointment at the United States Military Academy. I know his hardworking and determined character will serve him well as a cadet."
Simonds is currently serving as the Cowanesque Valley High School student council treasurer. He has been a student council member for three years. Hunter is a varsity athlete in baseball, wrestling, and cross country.
