How To Change a Designated Broker or Return a Business Entity To Active Status in the Realm Portal

If you need to change the designated broker for a business entity or return a business entity to active status, you can complete the process through the Real Estate and Appraiser License Management (REALM) Portal.

Before you begin, make sure you have the required documents ready to upload, including:

  • Proof of managing authority.
  • Proof of ownership or errors and omissions (E&O) insurance documentation.

Follow these steps to submit your request:

  1. Log in to the REALM Portal and click My Records.
  2. Locate your license number and click Amendment in the Action column.
  3. From the Type of Change Request menu, select Change of Designated Broker for a Business Entity.
  4. Click Continue Application.
  5. Answer the application questions and click Continue Application.
  6. Click Look Up to search for and select the broker.
  7. Once the broker has been added, click Continue Application.
  8. Click Add to upload your required documents.
  9. After uploading the files, select the appropriate file type for each document, click Save, and then click Continue Application.
  10. Click Continue Application again to review your application.
  11. Review the certification statement and check the box to agree.
  12. Click Continue Application to submit your request.

After submission, allow time for processing. You can monitor the status of your request anytime by logging into the REALM Portal and viewing your pending amendment under My Records.
