As part of a county-wide initiative, The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT)'s Transportation Demand Management program, Nashville Connector, is promoting a series of activations to raise awareness on the importance of safe, accessible, and affordable public transportation in Nashville.
Launched by Transit Now Nashville in 2013 as 'Transit Week', the initiative has since expanded to 'Transit Month', a county-wide celebration held every April to educate community members and promote public transportation options throughout the city. This month, Nashville Connector is partnering with WeGo Public Transit and local organizations to host and support several community events that advocate the benefits of public transit.
All events detailed below are free and are open to the public:
Nashville Connector is also promoting the usage of more sustainable modes of transportation through its Commuter Challenge. Residents and commuters can track their sustainable trips through a commute tracking app to participate in transit challenges and for the chance to win prizes. Additionally, all users who track at least 10 sustainable trips each month earn a $20 e-gift card.
