NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (August 29, 2025) - The City of New Brunswick will observe the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 1. City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed. Public safety and emergency services will continue to operate.
The New Brunswick Free Public Library will be closed from Saturday, Aug. 30 through Monday, Sept. 1. The New Brunswick Senior Citizen Resource Center will also be closed on Sept. 1
For residents with a scheduled trash pick-up on Monday, there will be no trash pickup on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1. Instead, trash collection will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 3
In addition, on Labor Day, federal and state offices will be closed, there will be no mail delivery, and banks and the stock market will be closed.
