Art by Architects Exhibition Celebrates Seven Years of Creativity
Last month, AIA New York and the Center For Architecture hosted the seventh Art by Architects exhibition! Showcasing works from over 70 different architects and designers from all over the New York City area, the opening reception raised funds for the Center for Architecture's Annual Education Fund.
Art by Architects NYC was founded in 2018 to highlight the creative multimedia exploration of architects that is often hidden behind the daily efforts of creating the built environment as we know it. Over the years, it has shown work from over 100 architects, professors and students of architecture, and interior designers from all over the New York metro area. It has brought together individuals from cross-disciplinary areas within the field of architecture and provided a place to celebrate each other's creative processes outside of the office.
Beyond the opportunity to share creations in community, the show has raised funds for various causes. This year, income from the sale of select artworks and reception tickets benefited the Center for Architecture's design education programming which nurtures an understanding and appreciation for architecture, inspiring the next generation of design leaders. The Center for Architecture's Annual Education Fund plays a pivotal role in making this vision a reality by supporting K-12 programs, subsidized fees to partner schools, and scholarships.
