SCHNEIDER STATEMENT ON RECEIVING ANOTHER PIECE OF SUSPICIOUS MAIL IN LINCOLNSHIRE OFFICE

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL - Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) released the following statement after his office received another piece of suspicious mail. Last week, the office received a threatening letter that was deemed non-hazardous after examination by a hazmat team.

"Today, for the second time in less than a week, Congressional offices across the Chicago area, including ours, received additional pieces of suspicious mail. We were alerted by another office who was first to identify the suspicious mail. When our team saw a similar letter in our mailbox, we immediately closed the mailbox and alerted Lincolnshire Police and the U.S Capitol Police. The mail was safely removed by the Lincolnshire Police and Fire departments, and we were given the 'all clear.'

"I am always grateful for the extraordinary commitment of our local police and fire departments to the safety of my team and our community. I know the FBI is already investigating last week's letter, and I am confident they will do the same for the most recent incident. Those responsible, once identified, must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
