WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using Favoto bike helmets. The helmets violate the positional stability, certification and labeling requirements of the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. In addition, the helmets can fail to protect riders in the event of a crash, posing a deadly risk of head injury.
Shenzhen Favoto Co., Ltd., of China, has not agreed to recall these helmets or offer a remedy to consumers.
About 2,200 helmets were sold on Amazon from April 2022 through January 2025. The helmets were sold in the color combination black/red with black padding, black straps with a silver reflective pattern in the center and a black and red buckle with a black chin strap. The helmets have a black plastic knob at the back of the helmet for adjusting the fitting. "FAVOTO" can be found in white letters on the side of the helmet.
CPSC is aware the firm may have also sold similar helmets in the following color combinations: black/blue, black/yellow, black/green, carbon, gray, black and titanium. The helmets may also have been sold on other platforms and by third-party sellers.
These products were manufactured in China.
CPSC urges consumers to stop using the Favoto helmets immediately, cut the straps, and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous helmets.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. Since the CPSC was established more than 50 years ago, it has worked to ensure the safety of consumer products, which has contributed to a decline in injuries associated with these products.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
