FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. (July 1, 2026) - BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) (NYSE: BDX), a leading global medical technology company, today announced that Matthew Sassone has been appointed worldwide president of BD Pharmacy Automation, a global business within the company's Medication Management Solutions business unit, effective immediately.
In this role, Matt will be responsible for driving the global strategy, performance and growth of the Pharmacy Automation business, as part of the Connected Care segment, with a focus on advancing innovation, expanding market presence and delivering solutions that address evolving needs across healthcare settings including retail and health system pharmacies. He will be based out of Pharmacy Automation's headquarters in Durham, N.C. and report to Bilal Muhsin, executive vice president and president of BD Connected Care.
"Matt is a highly accomplished global healthcare executive with a strong track record of translating innovation into real-world impact," said Muhsin. "His deep understanding of connected technologies and data-driven solutions will be instrumental as we continue to evolve our Pharmacy Automation business and deliver advanced robotics with more intelligent, integrated capabilities for our customers."
Sassone joins BD from Tristel plc, a publicly listed global infection prevention company, where he served as chief executive officer and delivered strong revenue and profit growth. Prior to Tristel, he held senior leadership roles across leading medical technology companies, including Smiths Medical, Getinge and Masimo, where he led global marketing and commercial strategy.
With more than 20 years of experience in medical technology, diagnostics and hospital automation, Sassone has built a proven track record of expanding into new markets, launching innovative products, and leading high-performing teams across the globe.
