Residents are invited to take advantage of two free compost giveaway events in May at Brandon Country Park and Haverhill Rugby Club.
The compost is produced from garden waste collected by the council's bin crews in and around West Suffolk.
Offering free compost to the local community is a way of giving back to residents who participate in the garden waste collection service.
Composting enhances soil fertility whilst conserving natural resources. By encouraging residents to make use of it and garden sustainably, large amounts of organic waste is prevented from ending up in landfill.
The events will be held at:
The free compost will be available for collection while stock lasts.
Residents are encouraged to bring their shovels and bags to collect the compost.
Staff and volunteers will be on hand to offer advice on general waste management, recycling and home composting techniques.
