Creating connection and conversation for those impacted by breast cancer across Long Island

On Monday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m.,

breast cancer survivors, caregivers, and supporters are invited to join the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Programfor its next Warriors Book Club, a free virtual gathering. This month's discussion will center on Theo of Goldenby Allen Levi, a touching novel that reminds readers of the beauty found in everyday life and the power of human connection.

For those seeking community and reflection ahead of the busy holiday season, the Warriors Book Club offers a welcoming space for individuals impacted by breast cancer to come together, share meaningful conversation, and find comfort through storytelling. During this one-hour session held over Zoom, participants will connect with others from across Long Island and New York State while exploring the book's uplifting themes.

A national best-seller, Theo of Goldentells the story of a small-town musician whose encounters with neighbors, friends, and strangers reveal the extraordinary in the ordinary. Through heartwarming vignettes, Levi captures the essence of kindness, faith, and resilience-messages that resonate deeply with readers navigating life's challenges.

"We've been running the Warriors Book Club for over two years, and participants often tell us how much the experience has meant to them and how it's helped them make meaningful connections and supported their healing journeys," said Reyna Machado, MA, MBA, Executive Director of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, part of Adelphi's School of Social Work. "As we wind down the year, this is the perfect opportunity to join us for our monthly reading and discover the comfort that comes from community."
