FEMA Provides Alabama Additional $1.4 Million to Fund Hurricane Sally Recovery and COVID-19

ATLANTA - FEMA approved an additional $1.4 million in funding to support disaster recovery in Alabama.

The funding comes from FEMA's Public Assistance program, which has already provided $292 million to help Alabama recover and rebuild after Hurricane Sally. The Public Assistance program provides funds for state and local government response and recovery work at no less than a 75% federal cost share.

The recently approved Hurricane Sally recovery project includes:

  • $1.2 million to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for repairs to the Pier at Gulf State Park.

Alabama also recently received one grant for the COVID-19 response:

  • $164,553 to Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville for management costs.
