NEW YORK, NEW YORK - On Wednesday, Congressman Greg Casar (D-TX) met with leaders from Latin America and around the world to discuss strategies for challenging right-wing authoritarianism and lifting up working people around the world.
Casar met with Presidents Gabriel Boric of Chile and Yamandú Orsi of Uruguay, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez of Spain, and representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. Leaders had traveled to New York as part of the United Nations General Assembly.
The convening, organized by the Panamerican Congress, honored the legacy of Pepe Mujica, the late president of Uruguay. Casar spokeat the Panamerican Congress' inaugural event in Colombia in 2024.
