SR-163 Connectors to I-5 Closed Evenings October 5 to 9

SAN DIEGO - Caltrans will close the State Route 163 (SR-163) and Interstate 5 (I-5) connectors in the evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., starting Sunday, October 5, to Thursday, October 9, for broadband installation.

Motorists travelling along the southbound I-5 will be detoured onto the eastbound SR-94 connector, then onto the northbound I-15 connector, then onto the northbound I-805 connector, then onto the westbound I-8 connector, then onto the northbound SR-163 connector.

Motorists travelling along the southbound SR-163 will be detoured onto the 10th Avenue off-ramp, continue towards C Street, turn left onto C Street, and then use the southbound I-5 on-ramp.

Motorists travelling along the northbound I-5 will be detoured onto the eastbound I-8 and onto the northbound 163 connector.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
