Jury Convicts Ossipee Man of Murdering Pregnant Girlfriend and Unborn Child

Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella announces that a Carroll County jury today found William Kelly of Ossipee, guilty of two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the December 17, 2023, deaths of Christine Falzone, 33, and her unborn child.

The evidence presented at trial established that Kelly assaulted Ms. Falzone inside the couple's residence in Ossipee, causing injuries that resulted in the deaths of both Ms. Falzone and her nearly full-term unborn child.

This case marked the first prosecution under New Hampshire law allowing a murder charge for the death of a fetus.

"Our thoughts remain with Christine Falzone's loved ones, who have endured an unimaginable loss," said Attorney General Formella. "We are grateful for our dedicated trial team, the diligent investigators who worked this case, as well as for the careful work of the jury throughout this trial. Domestic violence can have devastating and irreversible consequences, and we hope this verdict provides a measure of justice for Christine and her unborn child."

Attorney General Formella also thanked members of the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and all law enforcement officers and support personnel whose work contributed to the investigation and prosecution of the case.

Sentencing will be scheduled by the Carroll County Superior Court on August 10th at 1pm.
