Citizens Celebrates America's 250th Anniversary with Free Family Day at the Philadelphia Museum of Art During All Star Week

The free day features Museum-wide activities, workshops, and activities with the Phillies and Community Workforce Partners

Philadelphia, PA - As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, Citizens today announced it will welcome the public to the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA) on Monday, July 13, bringing together art, sport, and community.

Timed with Major League Baseball's All-Star Week, Citizens will sponsor a free admission day at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, along with a full day of family-friendly activities at the base of the iconic Rocky Steps. The event is part of Citizens' support of A Nation of Artists, a landmark dual-venue exhibition that traces the evolution of American creativity and identity.

"As we honor America's 250th anniversary, Citizens is proud to celebrate the spirit and vibrancy that has shaped our nation," said Dan Fitzpatrick, Citizens Mid-Atlantic and Midwest Market President. "Bringing people together through shared experiences is central to our Credo, from supporting arts and culture to investing in opportunities that strengthen our communities for generations to come."

Citizens support of the exhibition helps bring a wide range of free and accessible programs, including student initiatives, public talks, performances, and youth art making experiences, ensuring that Philadelphians of all backgrounds can engage with this historic cultural moment.

"The Philadelphia Museum of Art is proud to partner with Citizens to expand access to art and learning about our nation and our city on its 250th anniversary," said Daniel Weiss, George D. Widener Director and CEO of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. "Together, we are creating one-of-a-kind moments for people of all ages to connect with American art and history, and explore what Philadelphia has to offer."

As baseball, long considered America's favorite pastime, takes center stage in Philadelphia, Citizens is bringing the game's energy into the heart of the city and the iconic Rocky steps.

The July 13 activation will feature:

  • A stacked glove sculpture constructed from Citizens cards, created by Guinness World Record holding card stacker Bryan Berg. The sculpture was built over more than a month before debuting at Citizens Bank Park last September
  • A special appearance by Phillies alumni John Kruk
  • Interactive fan experiences, including custom baseball card creation, speed pitch challenges, and photo opportunities
  • Live entertainment, giveaways, and complimentary treats

Investing in Community and Future Talent

As part of its commitment to workforce development, Citizens is also partnering with Learn Fresh, a nonprofit that connects students to real-world career pathways through sports-based STEM programming.

Through a $50,000 contribution, Citizens is supporting the development of a STEM workforce curriculum in Philadelphia, including programming that features Citizens colleagues sharing career insights and mentorship.

On July 13, Citizens and Learn Fresh will host 50 high school seniors from the School District of Philadelphia for a hands-on workshop at the museum, including a panel discussion featuring MLB legend John Kruk.
