Assemblymember Alex Lee released the following statement in response to the federal government's recent decision to suspend a number of tech firms from a program that enables them to sponsor immigrant workers' green cards:

"The federal government's anti-immigrant agenda attempts to strip away legal pathways for hardworking people around the world to contribute to our country. Their bigoted attacks against immigrants, including H-1B visa and green card holders, denigrate those who are the driving force of California's growth and diversity. Some of the biggest tech companies of Silicon Valley would never have existed without immigrants. Our technological innovations, scientific research, health care, and education depend on their contributions. We must stand united to protect our immigrant workers."
